Defeat from the Jaws of Victory!

Adrian Peterson makes a fantastic play to get the Vikes into potential game-winning touchdown territory in Pittsburgh only to have The Legendary One throw a "crafty veteran" screen pass that Chester Taylor couldn't handle into the waiting arms of LB Kieran Fox who finished the pick-six. If not for an additional Favre fumble that wound up going for yet another defensive score for Pittsburgh, the Vikings probably steal that game on the road.

Oh well. As expected, the Vikes ran into a better team and lost.

Also as expected, the Packers trounced the hapless Browns.

Favre: 34 of 51 for 334, 0 TDs and an enormous pick (76.76)
Rodgers: 15 of 20 for 246, 3 TDs, no INTs and 23 yds on the ground (155.4)

  1. Nice try pinning this on Favre but according to the Moose and the other anouncer that pick is Chester's responsibility. Favre played great and had several passes dropped.

The Steelers are a very good team, yet the Vikings just about pulled this one out on the road. A B.S. call for "tripping" robbed the Vikings of taking the lead before the first Defensive touchdown.

This was a hard fought game between two elite teams. Let's see how the Pack does against the Steelers later this year when they play.

Looking forward to next Sunday. - should be a lot of fun.

  2. Actually, listen to the audio. Moose said the throw was early, which it was - and too stinking hard. How on earth can you NOT pin that atrociousness on Favre? Are you forgetting the fumble?

  3. "atrociousness" - a little overstated, even for the over pontificating Darth Vader

  4. I'll admit that. My exuberance got the better of me.

  5. Once again....everything good=Favre. Everything bad/losing=everybody else.

Might I remind you Pat that last year when Rodgers was lighting up the scoreboard and the statbook, you and your legion of lovers were quick to remind everyone that "stats mean nothing, only winning matters." So, to follow your quote....

Favre lit up the statbook, and lost...therefore, everything else means nothing. No worries though, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time during the course of the next week to think up your next line of excuses.

    Keep massaging.....rub, rub, rub....
